The infrared heater is positioned over the damaged area and raises the existing asphalt to 300–350°F using infrared rays that penetrate and soften the material without burning it. Hot mix asphalt blending and grading. Fresh hot mix asphalt is added to the reheated material and raked together in multiple layers as needed to reach grade.
